What are the FTPL, TPL and CDW insurances ?
TPL Third Party Liability insurance (TPL)
Mandatory insurance. It covers hospitalizations up to $9,000 (USD) per person. It doesn´t cover damages to third party cars neither to the rented car. The deductible is $0.00 (USD).

Collision Damage Waiver (CDW)
Insurance or exemption from damage to the rented vehicle in case of a collision, robbery or theft of the vehicle. This insurance covers damages for up to $100,000 (USD). The deductible is $500.
Full or extended Third-Party Liability FTPL
Additional Third-Party Liability insurance (besides the mandatory). It covers damages to third-party cars up to $100,000 (USD) and hospitalizations for up to $216,000 (USD) per passenger in the third-party car. The deductible for this insurance is $500.
Things to consider
The CDW insurance includes road assistance for flat tires, mechanical issues, and towing.
When taking the cero deductible option, the client won´t be charge any amount for damages corresponding to the insurance´s coverages. If not taking it, the maximum amount that will be charge (for any damage) is $500.
Refundable deposit
Even when taking the zero deductible, we ask for a $500 refundable deposit.
The deposit will be used for damages caused by "negligence" not covered by the insurances such as:
To hit the door against an object while opening it
To hit an object while reversing
Break a window or mirror with a ball or any other implement
Also, the deposit will be used for:
Key replacements, in case the costumer loose them
Fuel fillings, in case the costumer does not give it back at the required level, which is the same one that you received the car with at the beginning of the rental.
The deposit can be done by credit card or cash. In case of any situation mentioned, it will be only taken the amount required to fix the damage, replace the key, etc; not the complete deposit ($500). If non of the mentioned situations occur, the complete amount will be given back or unblocked to the costumer.
